How HTCI Platform Connect is Bringing Hairdressers Together in Unique Spaces

HTCI Platform Connect is making a noise in the hair industry. The concept is simple: intimate live hair gigs hosted by members of the Platform Community in spaces ranging from salons to back gardens. These events bring together hairdressers to share ideas and connect with local hair artists on a personal level.

At the heart of these events is the sHair Circle, where invited guest hair artists showcase their work and creativity. The first event was held in Clackmannan, Scotland, at the home salon and back garden of Samantha Blues, a hair colour science specialist. Since then, Platform Connect has attracted a growing community eager to host these gigs.

Gigs have since been hosted by Jacqueline Hirst in Beeston, Nottingham, Kerry Galliano, Amanda Murdoch and Caroline Flynn at The Creative Hub in Bedfordshire, and Cameron McGown, who took it international in Queensland, Australia. Most recently, textured hair expert and salon owner Chris Grimley hosted Platform Connect at her Lincolnshire salon, Fusion Hair, with support from Pivot Point.

The sHair Circle at this event featured local guest artists, including former FAME team member Darrel Starkey, who shared his expertise in wigs, rising star Olivia Brady, known for her vibrant colours, and young stylist Ruby Watson from Fusion Hair Co, making an impressive debut. Additionally, Janie Tounge from Ergo Styling Tools made a guest appearance to discuss ergonomics.

With a gathering of over 20 people, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making for a memorable Sunday afternoon in Lincolnshire. Platform Connect is growing rapidly, with more events planned soon.
