EP114: Belonging to a Global Community of Craft Hairdressers – with Gerard Scarpaci of Hairbrained

On this episode, I talk to Gerard Scarpaci, co-founder of Hairbrained.me. If you’ve yet to be part of or know of this community for passionate hairdressers and colourists, then I guarantee by the end of this episode you’ll be hitting them up. Supporting each other in elevating our craft, you’ll hear how belonging to this global community of craft hairdressers you can share your work and knowledge, while gaining inspiration and insights from your peers. Get in!

Gerard is a veteran craft hairdresser who draws over 28 years of experience in the salon, in classrooms and on stages around the world. One of the industry’s most respected educators, Gerard co-founded Hairbrained.me, a global community of craft hairdressers and colourists with over 1,000,000 members, fans, and followers worldwide.

As humans we are wired to be part of a group who all share similar values and passions. Today we will learn why the Hairbrained community is offering this sense of belonging, and how it’s grown up to offer so much more than it’s original platform of forums and sharing photos between it’s early members. Since the communities launch in 2008, it has gone on to launch the Hairbrained.pro Shop, produced the now iconic “Hb Teach-In” master jam events, introduced the inspiring Hairbrained Video Awards, and created Hb LIVE Academy –– the start of a revolution in online craft hairdressing education.

Whether you need a belonging to a community, or you’re feeling isolated from other likeminded hairdressers, then today’s conversation with Gerard will give you that push you need to surrounding yourself with other hairdressers and colourists from around the world. Everybody needs to be part of some community, so pick it wisely! Now lets get to it with Gerard!
